European Board of National Archivists
The Board is principally a forum for the exchange of archival information and experiences. It also offers the opportunity to discuss issues pertaining to archival work and international cooperation, including projects carried out jointly by European archives.
EBNA’s sessions, held since 1989, are attended by directors of national archives from European Union countries, associated states and candidate countries. Meetings are organized twice a year in the country that holds the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Since Poland’s accession to the EU in 2004, EBNA meetings are also attended by the General Director of the State Archives in Poland or his/her deputies.
